Can 3 5-year-olds read?
There is plenty of evidence that three-year-olds can read. However, this is not the norm. The usual age for a child to start reading is around five years. If your child is 3, 4, or 5 years old, take the Preschool Reading Screener.
It’s free and easy, and provides an instant snapshot of your child’s willingness to read and a plan for further development. I encourage my little child to learn things about life, she is 2 years old and she can speak Spanish almost very well, I play the piano for her, I read books about children’s things to her and so she becomes a lover of knowledge, just like her father. Or find some books that were made into movies and encourage him to read the book and then watch the movie. When I was teaching my kids to read, I tried to find books with only short words because I thought they would make it easier to learn to read.
It’s also important to note that not all books fit into any of these genres, especially books that are considered “phonics readers.”
