Her first book, Growing Vegetable Soup, was highly praised and highly recommended. It provided a fun, straightforward guide to gardening that anyone could understand.

After that, she created another excellent educational book entitled Planting a Rainbow. This guide instructs young children about the colors of the rainbow and how to grow plants and seeds from bulbs to seedlings to flowers.

She has created numerous beloved picture books that encourage kids to learn. She currently resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

This book is one of my favorites because it shows us that even small things can bring us joy. It also helps kids understand prisms and how they can use them to create an exquisite rainbow.

Don Freeman was an acclaimed painter, printmaker, and cartoonist whose works often included children’s books. His subjects ranged from Broadway theatre and politics to circus acts and jazz music.

His wife Lydia Freeman had a profound effect on his writing and illustrations, helping him hone his style and craft several beloved children’s books. Drawing inspiration from family memories and childhood adventures, they worked together on many of Don Freeman’s works together – you can even spot her work in some of his popular Corduroy stories!
